Moessbauer study of the magnetic properties of Ysub(1-x) Fesub(x) amorphous alloys
Description
Five compounds of the type Ysub(1-x) Fesub(x) were examined: x = 033; 0.50; 0.60; 0.67; and 0.80. Y2Fe (x = 0.33) excepted, all of them exhibit a hyperfine magnetic field at 1.5 K. As for Y Fe and Y Fe sub(1.5) a strong paramagnetic component appears in superposition. This is explained as an effect of nonmagnetic Fe ions, the percentage of which can be deduced from line strength measurement
