Effect of sulfur dioxide on surface potential of cadmium sulfide films

  • 1. Odesskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Odessa (Ukraine)

Description

The influence of thermal treatment in oxygen atmosphere on the change of surface potential of cadmium sulfide films in the course of their interaction with sulfuric anhydride was investigated. The surface potential is determined by contact difference of potentials as regards gold electrode. It is ascertained that increase in the depth of the Fermi level occurrence as a result of atomic oxygen diffusion to the film brings about a decrease in the height of surface potential barrier; in the conditions adsorption of sulfuric anhydride is facilitated and the sensitivity of the films towards gas recorded increases
