Protection of metallic surfaces against corrosion and γ-radiation using acidproof enamels

Description

Behaviour of protective silicate coating of 12Kh18N10T steel under γ radiation conditions in chemically active coolant based on nitrogen dioxide at 68 and 412 deg C with nitric acid content up to 50% has been investigated. Tests have shown that protective glass-enameled coatings have reliable bonding with stainless steel. Heat load does not practically make coating properties worse; it can be used for heat-exchange equipment, operating under radiation at the absorbed dose up to 4.5x10''6 J/kg
