Exchange of pressurizer safeguarding system at Biblis nuclear power station

Description
Valves and piping of the pressurizer safeguarding system are exchanged and reset in such a way that they are suitable not only for discharging steam, but also for discharging a water-steam mixture and hot pressurized water; for the emergency measure of primary depressurization by hand (bleed) in the event of failure of the entire feedwater supply and station black-out, and in the event of operational transients with supposed failure of the reactor scram (ATWS). To achieve this, in addition to the requirements of the pressurizer discharging station, changes have to be made to the valve drive to dominate the water loads. During the 1990 inspection this exchange of the pressurizer discharging station was performed at the Biblis A unit as the first German plant. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Armaturen und Leitungen der Druckhalterdruckabsicherung werden durch Austausch so umgeruestet, dass sie ausser fuer das Abblasen von Dampf auch fuer das Abblasen von Wasser-Dampf-Gemisch und von heissem Druckwasser, fuer die Notfallmassnahme primaerseitige Druckentlastung von Hand (Bleed) bei Ausfall der gesamten Speisewasserversorgung und Station Black-out sowie bei Betriebstransienten mit unterstelltem Versagen der Reaktorschnellabschaltung (ATWS) geeignet sind. Hierzu sind neben den Anforderungen an die Druckhalterabblasestation zur Beherrschung von Wasserlasten Aenderungen in der Ansteuerung der Ventile erforderlich. Als erste deutsche Anlage wurde im Block Biblis A dieser Austausch der Druckhalter-Abblasestation bei der Revision 1990 durchgefuehrt und abgeschlossen. (orig.)Additional details
