Progress in ITER heating and current drive system
Description
The plan of the ITER heating and current drive systems is based on a rated power of 73 MW delivered to the plasma as start up configuration. The commissioning of those systems is a key part of the early experimentation in the H/He and D phase. As a reference design, ITER heating system is composed of three kind of heating current drive (H and CD) systems, i.e., 20 MW of electron cyclotron (EC H and CD), 20 MW of ion cyclotron (EC H and CD) and 33 MW of negative ion beam (HB H and CD) systems. In this paper, the recent progresses in these heating and current drive systems are described. (author)
