Mechanisms of superconductivity at high transition temperature

Description
The paper deals with those mechanisms of superconductivity which may lead to high transition temperatures, and with the related theoretical and experimental problems. For this type of superconductors, the following classification is given and illustrated by a number of examples: (1) Systems with limited elelectric degrees of freedom, (2) systems with a tendency towards lattice instabilities, (3) systems with increased atomic packing density.
