Modern state of radiation chemistry and radiation technology
Description
In the review general problems and the most important results attained in the field of radiation chemistry and radiation-chemical technology in the late 5-10 years are considered. Conclusions are made on the development tendencies of these fields of science and technology - the study of initial stages of radiolysis and primary products of radiolytic transformations; lacing of cable insulation, solidification of overcoats, etc. sterilization of medical instruments, radiation treatment of foodstuffs, radiation decontamination of liquid and gaseous wastes. It is pointed out that in the near future radiation processes using electron accelerators will be developed at a higher rate than processes on the basis of γ-radiation sources
