Description
Nuclear core polarization effect in neutrinoless nuclear double beta decay of 48Ca is discussed. The calculations indicate that in contrast to the effect of either short-range correlation or finite nucleon size, the nuclear core polarization effect causes an enhancement of the total transition matrix element and hence a reduction of the upper limit of either the Majorana neutrino mass mν or the mixture parameter η of the right-handed currents, of about 8%
