NRC policy on nuclear power plant training and qualifications program
Creators
- 1. US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555
Description
The recent decision by the NRC to issue a policy statement on training in lieu of regulation places emphasis on the ability of the industry to sustain its impetus toward self-improvement in training. In addition, it necessitates the formulation by NRC of an evaluative process that objectively determines the reliability and predictability of the INPO-managed Training Accreditation process as a means of achieving and maintaining acceptable utility training programs. Numerous questions remain that are related to the ability of INPO and the NRC to establish and maintain a cooperative effort which enables each to meet its responsibilities
