Description
Efficient baseline elimination method plays an important role in γ-ray spectra analysis. A novel approach based on SNIP algorithm was developed, in order to improve the performances of existing methods. The width of filter was designed to be adaptive to FWHM of the peaks, and accurate baseline estimations in special peak-free regions, such as Compton edges, were achieved by extending the dynamic range of data. The improved SNIP algorithm was tested using practical spectrum, and the result was proved to be reliable and efficient comparing to the original methods. (authors)
