The status of the environment five years after Fukushima. To associate public to the risk management of contaminated products
Creators
Description
This article discuss where are now radioactive elements released by the Fukushima accident: in aquatic environments (their presence is explained, a French study on particle transfer is evoked as well as contamination measurements performed in estuaries and offshore), in forests (mainly cesium as noticed and analysed by various studies). It also addresses consequences on living creatures: studies on impacts on animals, on a noticed decrease of bird population and breeding. It evokes the very low radiological consequences of the accident in France, and outlines that some similar results have been obtained on bird population and breeding around Chernobyl. A second article comments public expectations related to the management of contaminated products after a nuclear accident, and more precisely the results of participative research on this issue performed in eleven European countries which notably addressed and assessed how well implemented measures were understood, and what were information to be publicly delivered
