PIXE analysis of urban aerosols on heavy-loaded membrane filters
Description
Since 1973 proton-induced X-ray emission spectroscopy has been used for the analysis of aerosol samples from the Copenhagen area. In the period 1973-1976 2- and 24 h high volume and cascade impactor samples were analyzed. The results of these investigations are described in ref.1. Only 24 h high volume filter samples were analyzed in the period 1974-1975. The big samples of particulates collected on the filters in this investigation made it possible to determine the concentrations of elements normally not found in aerosol samples by PIXE. The analytical procedure and some of the results are discussed. (Auth.)
