Evolution of magnetic properties in annealing and the Δlσ effect in a nonmetal-free amorphous alloy with near-zero magnetoresistance

Description

Aimed to reveal the regularities of the influence of various heat treatments, thermomagnetic treatment included, on the value of Δlσ effect and magnetic properties as well as to find the relation between the Δlσ effect characteristics and magnetic properties under conditions of different deformation magnetization mechanisms a study was made into the evolution of amorphous phase in a metallic glass Co80Mo9Ni1Zr10 with a near-zero saturation magnetostriction. The optimal heat treatment is shown to result in the Δlσ values comparable with those of iron base amorphous alloys. The alloy under study does not exhibit the tendency to embrittlement up to crystallization temperature and can be considered as a promising piezomagnetic material
