Oscillation strengths of 3H4 → (3P1; 1G4+1D2+3P0) transitions of tetravalent uranium in solutions of some complexes
Description
Studied are U(4) ion complexes with EDTA and β-diketones. The complexing is accompanied by the intensity increase of absorption bands corresponding to 3H4 → 3P1 and 3H4 → 1G4+1D2+3P0 transitjons in the spectrum range of 14000-19000 cm-1. It is shown that different-ligand complexes exist in the pH range from 4.5 to 8. The ratio of components in the U(4)xEDTAxβ-diketone complex is equal to 1:1:1. The found values of U(4) ion oscillator strengths are given. The increase of oscillator strengths at complexing is not large, it constitutes 3.6 lines for the 3H4 → 1G4+1D2+3P0 transition, and 5.4 times for 3H4 → 3P1 transition
