Description

The Parliament adopted the new National Policy (hereinafter referred to as 'Policy') by a resolution in 2015, formulating the policies for the back-end of the fuel cycle, the management of radioactive waste and the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Regarding the back-end of the fuel cycle, a final decision has not yet been made; rather the principle of 'do and see' is being applied that allows for the possibility of following domestic and international developments, with technological advancements to be integrated into the Policy as necessary. For the calculations, a reference scenario of an open fuel cycle has been selected, which includes the direct, domestic disposal of spent fuel from the NPP.
