X-ray Broadening and Optical Properties of NiO Nanoparticles Prepared via Co-precipitation Method by Varying Temperature
- 1. Jamal Mohamed College, PG and Research Department of Physics (India)
Description
The Nickel oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation method at room temperature (RT NiO NPs) and 60 °C treated (60T NiO NPs). XRD results revealed that the samples were cubic phase. TEM results confirm that the morphology of the annealed NiO is spherical structure. We also investigate the crystallite development in nanostructured NiO by X-ray peak broadening analysis. The individual contributions of small crystallite sizes and lattice strain to the peak broadening in both NiO nanoparticles were studied using Williamson–Hall (W–H) analysis. From the UV–Vis spectra, the optical band gap found out at 3.65 and 3.8 eV for RT NiO and 60T NiO NPs, respectively. The excitation wavelength of PL spectra was observed at 390 nm.
