Description
Multiferroic BiFeO3 is a non-centrosymmetric ferroelectric and G type antiferromagnetic with an incommensurate cycloidal spin structure cancelling macroscopic magnetization. The improvement of magnetic moment is one of the critical issues. We have investigated composites of two antiferromagnetic perovskite oxides BiFeO3 and LaMnO3 to study change in bulk magnetic behavior. Composites with nominal compositions (1-x) BiFeO3- xLaMnO3 (x = 0, 5, 10, 20 wt. percent) were synthesized by solid state reaction route. The samples were characterized by Neutron and X-ray Diffraction, Raman Spectroscopy, SQUID Magnetometer and X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy techniques
