Effects of DNA damage in peripheral blood lymphocytes of human induced by γ-ray irradiation

Description
The immediate irradiation-caused DNA damage in Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes of human irradiated with γ-rays was investigated, and the single cell gel electrophoresis(SCGE, Comet Assay) was used to detect the DNA damage. After 0Gy, 0.1 Gy, 0.5Gy, 1 Gy, 2Gy, 3Gy γ-rays irradiation, content of DNA in tail is 4.66%, 5.22%, 5.74%, 12.75%, 21.59% and 24.11%, while tail moment is 1.02, 0.95, 1.24, 5.40, 7.06 and 13.05. The results indicated that the content of DNA in tail and tail moment for the immediate irradiation-cased DNA damage had a positively linear correlation with the irradiation dose in the dose range of 0-3 Gy, and SCGE can be to serve as a new biological dosimeter.
