Thermal variation of g values in YFe2 and GdCo2 compounds
Description
Results are presented of ferromagnetic resonance measurements on YFe2 and GdCo2 compounds in a large temperature range and various frequencies. In case of YFe2 compound the g values are temperature independent g = 2.20 +- 0.02. The thermal variation of g factor in the ferrimagnetic GdCo2 compound may be described by the Wangsness relation. Although the 3d band of iron or cobalt is altered by alloying with yttrium or gadolinium, no notable changes in g values as compared to corresponding pure metals are observed. (author)
