Nuclear simulators working group

The summary of this working group focuses on three areas where EPRI might help resolve some problems facing owners of Nuclear Power Plant Simulators. The first problem deals with ambiguity on how to compile to the NRC regulation to certify Nuclear Power Plant Simulators if the simulators are to be used in operator examinations. The second recommendation made was that EPRI should investigate and recommend novel technologies to expand and extend the computational power of existing simulators without purchase of a new large computer. It was also recommended that EPRI should act as a clearing-house for the models that have been developed and that they should develop a simulator newsletter which focuses on such developments.
