Flow-induced vibration test and analysis of heat exchanger in NPP

  • 1. Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Inst. (China)

Description

A method of comparing the results of calculation with test is used to verify the reliability and adequacy of the program in order to evaluate the flow-induced vibration of heat-exchanger tubes, so the program can be applied to design of safety related heat-exchanger in NPP. The shell side flow velocity and tube vibration are measured. The results of measurement show that there is a margin of safety in general for the results of calculated by program TASC and PIPO 1, but it should be noted that the flow velocities may be higher at a few points of the shell side.
