Mathematical model of optoelectronic 'EX-OR' logical gate

Description

In presented paper an optoelectronic system, realizing the logical function exclusive OR (EX-OR), which can be applied in transmission and processing of signals in optical form, is described. The optoelectronic logical system EX-OR was composed of thin film photoconducting (PC) and electroluminescent (EL) elements, made of cadmium sulfide and zinc sulfide, respectively, doped with copper, chlorine and manganese. The investigated system was composed of eight PC and five EL elements suitably connected and supplied with a sinusoidal voltage. In such circuits the function EX-OR for input light signals (L1 and L2) illuminating the PC elements were realized, and the output signal was the light emitted by one of the EL elements
