Radiative decays of the J/psi into γπ+π- and γK+K-

  • 1. California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California 91125

Description

The decays J/psi→γπ+π- and J/psi→γK+K-, M/sub K//sub <+/K/sup =/<2.0 GeV/c2, have been studied. Measurements are presented for B(psi→γf(1270))B(f(1270)→π+π-), B(psi→γf(1270))B(f(1270)→π+π-), B(psi→γf'(1525))B(f'(1525)→K+K-), and B(psi→γtheta)B(theta(1270)→K+K-). A higher-mass structure is observed in the π+π- channel. The spin of the theta(1720) is established with high confidence. The polarization structure of the f(1270), f'(1525), and theta(1720) have been determined
