Description
Trace elements in head hair of 20 workers from a non-ferrous smelter (exposed group) and of 20 normal individuals living in the same are (control group) have been analyzed in order to detect possible significant differences. The elemental concentrations of 24 elements (Na, Mg, Al, Cl, K, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Br, Ag, Cd, In, Sb, I, La, W and Au) are presented and compared with published data. The present study revealed elevated concentrations of As, Se, Ag, Cd and Sb in the exposed group when compared with the control group. (author)
