Description
Pebbles of lithium orthosilicate have been proposed for the conceptual design of a ceramic tritium breeder blanket. Orthosilicate is favoured for this application mainly because of the high tritium diffusivity, its reasonably high lithium density and its good thermal stability. In the present work two types of lithium orthosilicate pebbles were examined with respect to possible differences in reaction enthalpies. (orig./AH)
