Description

We assessed fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in lymph nodes of 14 patients who underwent FDG-positron emission tomography (PET)/CT before and after chemoradiotherapy (CRT) for head and neck cancers. FDG uptake in lymph nodes significantly increased within 1 month after CRT. The post-CRT maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) could reach to more than the double of pre-CRT SUVmax. This fact needs to be considered for early monitoring therapy with FDG-PET/CT. (author)
