Correction of track brightness in a streamer chamber
- 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna (Russian Federation)
Description
A method to correct track brightness in the streamer chamber of the GIBS spectrometer is described. The concentration of air at the front and rear areas of the chamber is changed by redistributing the flow of the working gas between different holes in the chamber walls. The uniformity of tracks on photographic plates produced by particles with unit charge can be improved or the brightness of tracks due to incident multiply charged particles in the input area before the target can be reduced
