Optimum relative sensitivity of a radiation intrascope
Description
The aim of the present work was to determine the optimum barrier thickness to ensure a maximum relative radiation introscope sensitivity for a given radiation source. An equation for optimum barrier thickness is derived and analyzed taking a proper account of all real components of instrument noise and of the effect of dissipated radiation. A new experimental method is suggested, on the basis of the analysis of the derived equation, for evaluation of various instrument noise components
