Description
At this time RSG-GAS has been operating for 30 years. In accordance with BAPETEN regulations, regarding Periodic Safety Assessments, the evaluation must be carried out every 10 years. To fulfill these requirements, comprehensive system evaluation and analysis is needed. The results of the evaluation through this analysis are needed as data to support the application for the extension of the operating license to BAPETEN. To fulfill these requirements, one of the tasks that need to be done is evaluating critical component classification. The evaluation was carried out on classification the structure, system, and components (SSC) of RSG-GAS by analyzing the RSG-GAS SSC classification based on a review of BAPETEN regulations regarding the SSC and Safety of IAEA criteria regarding research reactors. The second method is a review of maintenance reports and improvements to the SSC that are included in the safety class criteria. RSG-GAS SSC classification which consists of 1. safety class, 2. quality class, and 3. seismic class. The RSG-GAS SSC Classification has calculated the quality class that must be fulfilled by the vendor/manufacturer and takes into account the seismic factor in the SSC design. The results of the analysis of the suitability of the RSG-GAS SSC classification against BAPETEN regulations No. 8/2008 concerning the safety provisions for aging management of non power reactors, IAEA SSR3 regarding the safety of research reactors, as well as the results of RSG-GAS system operating data record on current conditions. It can be concluded that the SSC qualifications are still in accordance with aging management requirements so as to provide assurance of the continuity of RSG operations is safe. (author)
