Excitation of the JINR linear accelerator resonator
Description
A new method of exciting the resonator of a linear ion accelerator is described. It is shown that for obtaining the maximum front of basic oscillation build-up, a definite frequency must be selected from the supporting master generator along with an optimum voltage level. Stable excitation of the resonator was observed under conditions favorable to development of the resonance high-frequency charge. (N.E.)
