Synthesis of CeO2: sol-gel properties and characterization of the obtained nanoparticles

Description
An efficient sol-gel synthesis of a nanoparticle cerium oxide (IV) method was proposed. The presence of nanoparticles was confirmed by AFM micrographs. The absence of impurities was validated by Thermogravimetric (TGA), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. A particle size of 11 nm was revealed by Scherrer's law, whereas dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis was showed an average diameter of 9.55 nm. Viscosity and concentration were behave proportionally. Contact angle measurements was showed that is more feasible to coat silicon (110) substrate than pure aluminum. A filter for ultraviolet radiation was obtained when particle concentrations are larger than 13.74 mg/cm3

Un metodo sol-gel eficiente fue propuesto para la sintesis de oxido de cerio (IV) nanoparticulado y fue comprobado con imagenes de microscopia de fuerza atomica (AFM). Los analisis por termogravimetrico (TGA), espectroscopia infrarroja con transformada de Fourier (FT-IR) y difraccion de rayos X (XRD) han validado la ausencia de impurezas. El tamano promedio de 11 nm del cristalito fue revelado por la ley de Scherrer, mientras que un diametro promedio de 9,55 nm fue mostrado por dispersion dinamica de la luz (DLS). La viscosidad y concentracion de las nanoparticulas fueron directamente proporcionales. Las mediciones de los angulos de contacto han mostrado que es mas factible recubrir el sustrato de silicio (110) que el aluminio puro. Un filtro para la radiacion ultravioleta fue obtenido cuando las concentraciones de particulas son mayores de 13,74 mg/cm3Additional details
