Deuteron polarizability and S-wave π+d scattering at energies below 1 keV

Description
The influence of deuteron polarizability on the S-wave π+d scattering in a low-energy limit is explored in the framework of the phase-function method. It is shown that the nonoscillating part of the S-wave cross section of π+d scattering has a deep and sharp minimum in the energy region ∼ 0.4 keV
