Description
The rare earth-iron rich RE2Fe17 intermetallic compounds based on the rhombohedral Th2Zn17-type structure or hexagonal Th2Ni17-type structure are found to have an excellent intrinsic magnetic properties. The important effect on magnetic properties of rare earth iron phases results not only from the interstitial atoms (H,C and N) but also from the M atoms such as Ga, Al and Si that substitute for Fe in RE2Fe17-xMx system
