IR emissions from PAH molecules and interstellar dust

Creators

  • 1. York Univ., Ontario (Canada)

Description

Emission spectra of a variety of objects associated with the interstellar medium show IR features that are suggestive of emission by aromatic molecular species. The nature of these emitters and their relation to interstellar dust will be discussed in this talk. It will be shown that the form and relative intensity of these emission features can be used to place surprisingly narrow constraints on the nature of the emitters involved
