Creators

Description
The author considers the problems faced by all countries having nuclear programs in the management and disposal of wastes. A preferred option is underground disposal which has been studied for more than twenty years. Given the complexities of the different scenarios possible for underground waste disposal, guidance is required by member states for identification of possible approaches in the adoption of the most appropriate strategy to meet their goals. The International Atomic Energy Agency has initiated and formulated an underground disposal program to assist member states in this important area. (Auth.)
