Working in PET radioisotope medical cyclotron facility

Creators

  • 1. IBA Cyclotron, Noida (India)

Description

Positron emission tomography: cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Accurate diagnosis, staging and restaging are essential for the optimal therapeutic management of cancer patients. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is fast emerging as a new technology which finds wide applications in nuclear medicine. PET is especially useful in the fields of Oncology, Neurology and Cardiology. Cyclotron facility - establishing cyclotron facility is challenging job, it needs specialized manpower to designed facility, most of the old facility where non GMP because of no proper regulatory norms, but now regulatory norms demands GMP facility. Installation and commissioning of Cyclotron facility- It is mostly done by equipment supplier with the help of specialized trained manpower. In India lot of facilities become operational, new facilities are coming in one or two years, Isotopes are available all over country, PET technology is spearing rapid space. Next 20 years this technology will see almost 20 % growth
