Laser deposition of thin superconducting films from a nanocrystalline YBa2Cu3O7-δ target
- 1. Wihuri Physical Laboratory, University of Turku, FIN-20014 Turku (Finland)
Description
A target prepared from YBa2Cu3O7-δ nanopowder is used for pulsed laser deposition of thin films on SiTiO3 substrates. Investigations by atomic force microscopy show that in this way it is possible to prepare smooth films which are free from droplets. In optimized growth conditions the critical current density Jc approx.= 8 x 106 A cm2 in zero field at 77 K, superconducting transition temperature Tc approx.= 90 K and transition width of ΔTc = 2 K are obtained.
