Entropy of quantum fields in charged BTZ black hole spacetime

  • 1. Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India)

Description

The charged BTZ black Hole is the solution of Einstein-Maxwell field equations with, negative cosmological constant in (2+1) dimensions. We have calculated the entropy of quantum fields in the background of charged BTZ black hole by using entanglement entropy method. The leading term of the entropy formula resembles to the area law and the sub-leading term is the logarithmic correction to the black hole entropy. We have also calculated the co-efficient of logarithmic correction of these fields numerically and the result is consistent with that of Mann and Solodukin. (author)
