Distribution control of power density along axis of electron beam

Description

Possibility of forming assigned linear law of power density distribution along the beam axis and its convergence angle due to scanning of focal plane on a segment was established theoretically and supported in experiments. Relations for determining duty factor of scanning pulses were obtained. Optimization of the process of electron beam welding according to various criteria requires the formation of assigned distribution of power density along the beam axis. The obtained expressions enable to evaluate parameters of rectangular scanning pulses for formation of this distribution in linear form
