Search for the charge-symmetry-breaking reaction d+d→4He+π0 at 0.8 GeV

Description
For the charge-symmetry--breaking reaction d+d→ 4He+π0 at T/sub d/ = 0.8 GeV around 1000 c.m., an upper limit on the production cross section of ≅0.8 pb/sr is obtained. This represents about a factor of 20 improvement on previous measurements, but is still a factor of 5 above expected violations
