Description
MHD materials must resist not only high temperatures, erosion through vaporation and other wear processes and corrosion by alkali and slag attack, but also must possess the requisite physical properties necessary for component operation. This paper briefly describes some major MHD materials and design requirements. A sumary of material performance tests under MHD conditions is included
