Peculiarities of electron structure of ultradispersed cubic boron nitride

Description

The method of ultrasoft X-ray spectroscopy is used to study the effect of a high degree of grinding on the structure of the energy spectrum of electrons in ultradispersed powders of cubic boron nitride. A correlation of changes in the electron spectrum of B and N atoms with a difference of electron-negative mode of the components is considered. It is shown that more essential changes manifest in spectra of the component whose negativeness is higher (in nitrogen). An increase of the number of nonclosed B-N bonds under superdispersion of particles induces a decrease in the number bonds of sp-hydride states which in the long run attenuates intensity of the fine structure of X-ray spectra. The obtained data are compared with analogous results from studies of ultradispersed diamonds
