Chernobylsk shelter found
Description
The sarcophagus covered the ruins of Chernobylsk-4 reactor after their damage as a result of accident in 1986 have been built in 1987-1988. Its technical state get worse and worse during the period 1988-2000 due to radiation effects on building materials. Therefore in 1997 the Chernobyl Shelter Found have been established for financing the Shelter Implementation Plan (SIP). The main goal of SIP is to build new shielding construction for solution many problems connected with radiation protection of staff and local population as well as environmental protection against possible releasing the radioactive materials closed in sarcophagus now
