Phase somposition and catalysis activity of nickel borides prepared by chemical and electrochemical methods

Description
The phase composition of precipitates formed during the chemical and electrochemical processes for producing nickel borides are studied by X-ray phase and electronographic analysis. The composition of the electrolytes from which precipitation is effected is given. It is shown that with chemical precipitation nickel borides are obtained, while with precipitation on nickel plates there occurs simultaneous deposition of nickel and nickel boride from the complex electrolyte. A possible mechanism involving anode oxidation of hydrazine on the alloy obtained is suggested. (author)
