Simulated experiment and CFD about a concrete cask
- 1. Kobe Steel Ltd. (Japan)
Description
The experiment and the computational analysis were performed to investigate the convective heat transfer from the canister and the liner to cooling air and the radiative heat transfer from the canister to the liner of a concrete cask. The flow rate of the cooling air was estimated by using the draft force calculation. The simplified heat transfer model was developed to estimate the temperature of a canister, a liner, and a concrete. The predicted temperature distribution of a canister and a liner agreed with the experimental data. (author)
