Control rod assembly
Description
In a control rod assembly of an LMFBR type reactor, a double-walled cylindrical heat sensitive portion containing liquid metals in and around bellows is disposed. The liquid metals in the heat sensitive member expands corresponding to the temperature elevation of coolants and flow into the bellows. Even if the bellows are ruptured, an extension tube is urged downwardly by the expansion of the liquid metals of that portion, so that the control rod main body is inserted into a reactor core. Accordingly, the control rod main body can be inserted into the reactor core at a high reliability by utilizing the temperature elevation of the coolants upon occurrence of an abnormal state. (T.M.)
