Interaction kinetics of oxides in TiO2-Fe2O3 and ZrO2-Fe2O3 mixtures

Description
With the method of Moessbauer spectroscopy the kinetiks of solid solutions formation in the TiO2-Fe2O3 and ZrO2-Fe2O3 systems at small additions of Fe2O3 - 2% (mas.) in the 850-1300 deg range is studed. It has been found that higher process rate for solution of Fe2O3 in TiO2 is characteristic than that for ZrO2. The activation energy of Fe2O3 solution process in TiO2 and ZrO2 (83.6 and 125.5 kJ/mol) respectively. It is shown that the solid solutions formation in the TiO2-Fe2O3 and ZrO2-Fe2O3 systems is limited by internal diffusion and determined by energy parameter values and interaction type in the Me-O system
