X-ray diffraction analysis of the phase transformations in Uranium-Molybdenum and Uranium-Zirconium alloys submitted to thermal treatments

Description

This work study the phase transformation of the U-Mo and U-Zr alloys resulting from the thermal treatments. In the U-Mo alloys it was observed that the homogenization thermal treatment allows decomposition of the γ solid solution through a series of diffusion phase transformations, resulting in a structure composed of the uranium α-phase and a second Molybdenum γ rich phase. 11 refs., 11 figs
