Use of reaction gas extraction for atomic absorption determination of silicon in pure indium

Description
One of the elements that has significant effects on the properties of semiconductor instruments is silicon. This paper is aimed at the development of a procedure for the determination of silicon in pure indium at the level of 10-5% to 10-6% by weight, using a new chlorinating agent (CA) -- copper dichloride -- and atomic absorption with electrothermal atomization of the gaseous sample. The silicon in indium is released into the gas phase in the form of tetrachloride. The guaranteed lower limit of determinable contents of silicon is 2 ha 10-5% by weight. The relative standard repeatability deviation of results of parallel determinations of silicon in indium is no greater than 0.25
