Crossover from non-Fermi liquid to Fermi liquid behavior in a spinless fermion model with quantum criticality

  • 1. Department of Physics, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 32306 (United States)

Description

A model of spinless fermions with nested Fermi surface and a quantum critical point due to a charge density wave instability is considered. A ln(T)-dependence of C/T and a linear T-dependence of the quasi-particle linewidth is obtained for the tuned quantum critical point. A crossover from Fermi liquid to non-Fermi liquid behavior is obtained with increasing T and nesting mismatch. The above has consequences for the dynamical conductivity and the neutron diffraction quasi-elastic peak of heavy fermions
